Description

The aim of this module is to provide the learner with a deeper understanding of how safeguarding operates and how they can apply it to their own work.

This module will cover:
  • Understanding the role and purpose of safeguarding children.
  • Identifying children who are most at risk of harm.
  • Introducing risk assessment and referral procedures.
  • Recognising responsibilities regarding referrals to the relevant bodies.
  • Understanding the role and purpose of the Child Protection Conference including plans and reviews.
On completion of this module, learners will be able to:
  • Explain the role and purpose of safeguarding children.
  • Identify children at risk of significant harm and conduct assessments.
  • Recognise the role of the social care team and how referrals to them are made.
  • Understand the role and purpose of a Child Protection Conference.
