Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness

Description

The aim of this module is to provide the learner with an understanding of what represents child sexual exploitation. Additionally, it aims to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify signs of exploitation when working with children and young people. 

This module will cover:
  • Understanding child sexual exploitation and recognise those most vulnerable to it.
  • Identifying methods used to target children and young people and the impact of sexual exploitation on them.
  • Outlining the common behaviours of a child who may be experiencing exploitation.
  • Applying best practice approaches for responding to concerns and making a referral.
On completion of this module, learners will be able to:
  • Understand the concept of child sexual exploitation and recognise those most vulnerable to it.
  • Identify methods used to target children and young people, as well as the impact of sexual exploitation on them.
  • Outline common behaviours exhibited by a child who may be subject to exploitation.
  • Apply best practice approaches for responding to concerns and making referrals.
