Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Description

The aim of this module is to provide the learner with an understanding of the various types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and their respective functions. This encompasses selecting the most suitable PPE for a given task and verifying that all equipment is in good working order prior to usage.

This module will cover:
  • Understanding the regulations regarding PPE.
  • Clarifying the roles and obligations of both employers and employees.
  • Enhancing workplace safety through PPE.
  • Recognising the appropriate PPE for specific tasks and ensuring proper usage.
  • Overseeing the management and maintenance of PPE.
  • Identifying signage related to the use of PPE.
On completion of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the responsibilities and duties of employers and employees.
  • Improve workplace safety through the use of PPE.
  • Identify the appropriate PPE for individual tasks and ensure accurate usage.
  • Correctly manage and maintain items of PPE.
